Please read this information in it’s entirety! Thank you!
Think FREE yard sale! Bring your clothes, housewares, accessories, shoes, books, toys, games, etc. & swap 'em out for "new" ones!
At this time there is NO entrance fee for the Swap other than volunteering to help setup, cleanup, or transport leftovers.
If Donations keep coming in, and the costs are covered, we will not have to charge an entrance fee.
Mommy Swap started in April of 2012 with a small group of mom’s who decided to assemble all our
excess in one place and share them with each other! Our first event being held in a member’s living room!
It was small and a special blessing and time of fellowship to all involved.
As time went on the event only increased in attendance and items “donated”!
The Swap has continued ever since and has been a source of encouragement and blessing to all involved.
We hope your family is blessed by this event as well.
Due to size constraints, please limit your invites to 2 guests (only people you personally know, because this is a private event) who would be NEW participants to our swap. (All previous participants are welcome).
Email the Swap Coordinators with your friend’s email address. We will email your friends.
Attendees are required to help with either or both:
Set-up Crew (Wednesday Night)
Clean-up Crew (Friday Night)
Exceptions include 1st and 3rd pregnancy trimesters, early postpartum, medical necessity, etc.) If you are truly unable to help, please contact Swap Coordinators so that other arrangements can be made.
If you do require an exception, it is strongly suggested that you send your husband in your stead! These swaps don't happen without a lot of help!
All items MUST be dropped off at any of these three times:
Swap Setup on Wednesday
Church business hours on Thursday
1 hour prior to the start of the swap on Friday.
If you drop your items off on Thursday, please call and confirm they’re open first, and sign in with your name and phone number at the church office, before unloading downstairs.
This is an awesome way to give back...Any leftover items will be donated to a local charity.
We greatly appreciate anyone who is able to bring a truck/trailer/van or other way to transport items to a drop-off location. Usually this is done the following day after the Swap.
We’d greatly appreciate it if EVERYONE would take a bag or three of clothing to a donation center at your convenience. Due to a lack of trailers in the past it would be awesome if everyone could pitch in.
The only thing better than swap "shopping" is eating while you swap, so feel free to bring a finger food to share.
Courtesy is always key … only take what you need. No re-sale flipping allowed.
Be considerate of others: no hoarding, snatching, or chaotic behavior. Typically moms with newborns come, and the less chaotic the better.
NO sorting items on tables for easy snatching
NO hiding items under the tables
NO putting items in bags or boxes before the swap starts
Feel free to try things on in the bathrooms and return to the tables if it won’t work for you.
If you drop your items during one of the early drop off times, please sign in with your name and phone number at the church office, before unloading downstairs.
Items should be washed and in GOOD CONDITION, not ripped, junked, or heavily stained.
Anything from clothing, housewares, accessories, fabric/craft items, pantry items, etc.
If you truly have a need and can't "get rid" of anything, feel free to make something. People in the past have brought, homemade body soap, body scrubs, plant starts, gifts in a jar recipes, or a snack to share etc... so that they have a little something to contribute.
We love kids, but this is a Ladies Night Out.
In order to respect the building space generously donated for our use and to keep the Swap fair for everyone:
ONLY nursing babies (worn or strollered) or children age 8+ are welcome to attend the Swap. We are sorry to have to raise the age on this requirement, but with the swap growing so large, this has become a necessary move.
In order to keep sets of items complete, please make sure your children know NOT to unpackage and play with items.
Children who come, come as your helpers, not to play with the toys.
The same guidelines apply to kids as well as adults :)
NO hoarding items on tables for easy snatching
NO hiding items under the tables
NO putting items in bags or boxes before Swap starts
Do you have a family business!?
Feel free to bring gift baskets, coupons, flyers, business cards, and or other forms of advertisement. We’ll have a free raffle for gift baskets during the swap.
Pre-sort the items you are bringing beforehand as best you can because there are so many "treasures"!
Sort by categories, gender, size, etc.
Please take this into consideration when you are packing up your contributions throughout the season!
